Expert Virtual Medical Assistant - Mental Health Sector
We are looking for someone with a strong medical background preferably with experience in psychiatry behavioral health therapy or another outpatient medical setting . The ideal candidate will understand the unique needs of psychiatric patients and be comfortable communicating professionally and compassionately with patients providers pharmacies and insurance companies. This is an excellent opportunity for a medical assistant who enjoys working independently has strong clinical knowledge and wants to grow with a busy and expanding practice. Work Hours are 9 am - 6pm Monday - Friday Central Standard time with 1-2 daays per week on Saturdays from 9-1 pm Key Responsibilities Assist psychiatric providers with day-to-day patient care and clinical workflow Respond to patient questions regarding medications appointments treatment instructions and practice procedures Triage patient calls and messages and appropriately escalate clinical concerns to the provider Process medication prior authorizations including gathering required clinical information and communicating with insurance companies Follow up on prior authorization requests and medication coverage issues Communicate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions refills medication availability and insurance issues Assist patients with medication-related questions and direct clinical questions to the appropriate provider when necessary Assist with patient intake and collection of relevant medical information Obtain and document patient information accurately in the EMR Assist with appointment scheduling rescheduling and coordination of follow-up appointments Help ensure patients are scheduled appropriately based on provider recommendations and treatment needs Review patient messages and route them appropriately to psychiatric providers or therapists Assist providers with obtaining information needed for medication management and follow-up visits Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR Communicate professionally with patients pharmacies insurance companies and healthcare providers Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality Assist with other clinical tasks as directed by the provider or practice manager Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: Previous Medical Assistant or healthcare experience Experience working with psychiatry behavioral health therapy or mental health patients strongly preferred Experience processing medication prior authorizations Working knowledge of prescription medications and pharmacy processes Familiarity with health insurance plans and medication coverage Experience using an EMR/EHR Excellent communication and patient-service skills Strong clinical judgment regarding when a patient concern should be escalated to a provider Exceptional attention to detail Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy Ability to work independently in a virtual environment Strong work ethic and reliability Professional compassionate and patient-centered communication style

We Are Hiring: Medical Referral Specialist Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Referral Specialist / Referral Coordinator with strong medical administrative skills to support our medical Referral Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end referral process ensuring accurate coordination between providers insurance companies and patients to facilitate timely access to care. Key Responsibilities: 1.Process and manage incoming and outgoing medical referrals from initiation to completion 2.Coordinate referrals between primary care providers specialists and facilities 3.Verify insurance eligibility and referral requirements 4.Obtain authorizations when required for referred services 5.Follow up on pending referrals and approvals to prevent delays in patient care 6.Communicate with insurance companies provider offices and patients regarding referral status 7.Accurately document referral information and outcomes in the EMR/EHR system 8.Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally 9.Respond to patient and provider inquiries related to referrals Requirements: 1.Must be a Nurse Graduate 2.Minimum 2 years of experience in a Referral Department Referral Coordination or similar medical administrative role 3.Strong understanding of medical terminology 4.Experience working with EMR/EHR systems (e.g. ECW or similar platforms) 5.Experience with insurance verification referral eligibility and payer communication 6.Experience handling patient and provider calls professionally 7.Fluent in English both spoken and written 8.Available to start immediately 9.Must have own computer/laptop stable internet connection noise-canceling headset and backup equipment 10.Confident in handling inbound and outbound calls send your resume to hidden
