We're hiring our first dedicated editor for one flagship creator: a cozy homemaker lifestyle brand (warm home, garden, cooking, comfort) with a retro-gaming thread woven through it. WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY EDIT Instagram Reels (15 to 30s) for a warm domestic-lifestyle brand. Think lamp-lit rooms, cooking and garden moments, soft-spoken voiceover, a retro game paused on the TV in the background. Warm and cozy, but never slow or boring. Our editing style: - 2-3s pacing rule - Something must happen every 2 to 3 seconds: a sound effect, a subtle zoom, a cut, a text pop, an on-screen detail. Micro-events keep retention high. The trick is doing this while the reel still FEELS calm and warm, not chaotic. Gentle movement, not zoom-punch spam. - Optimal trimming - Tight cuts, no dead air, no wasted frames. Every clip trimmed to its best moment. - Sound design as a core skill - Domestic texture (kettle, chopping, rain on the window, keyboard clicks) layered with retro game SFX accents and a whisper-register voice. You'll integrate sound effects constantly. Our audience recognizes the brand by sound in 3 seconds. - Simple, clean transitions and effects - Smooth and purposeful. No flashy transition packs, no trend-chasing effects that fight the cozy vibe. - Nostalgia-literate accents - You don't need to be a Nintendo expert. You'll work from our reference bank of era-correct sounds and visuals, and you'll learn why a 1998 chest-opening sound outperforms any trending audio for our audience. You'll get a full style bible, hook templates, banned-elements list, and direct feedback from the founder. We want an editor who becomes THE voice of this brand's edit, not a gig-worker juggling 30 clients. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU - Some experience with short-form vertical content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok). Show us, don't tell us. - Strong pacing instincts: you know how to keep a reel alive every 2 to 3 seconds without making it feel loud - Clean audio mixing and confident sound-effect work. This brand lives and dies on sound. - Solid color grading fundamentals (warm grades, skin tones) - CapCut, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve all welcome. We judge the output, not the software. - A good laptop that can handle raw vertical footage and deliver on deadline - Fluent written English. Feedback loops are async and fast. - Reliable internet Bonus points: you've edited cozy-lifestyle, cooking, home, or ASMR-adjacent content · you understand parasocial audiences · you grew up on PlayStation, Nintendo, or Sega · you've worked with creator brands before.
