PAYROLL SPECIALIST
• Complies employee time and payroll data from timesheets and other records. Compute wages and certain deductions (i.e government contributions, salary loans, cash advance and with-holding tax on compensation) and enters data into computers. • Verifies attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and posts information onto designated records. Issues and records adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases. • Review timesheets, wage computation, and other information in order to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies. Prepare and balances period-end reports and reconciles issued payroll to bank statements. • Process and issues employee pay checks and statements of earnings and deductions. • Records employee information, such as exemptions, transfers and resignations, in order to maintain and update payroll records. Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to payroll process. • Provides information to employees and department heads on payroll matters, tax issues and benefit packages. • Process resigned employee’s final pay upon submission of clearance from Human Resource Department.
