Social Media Virtual Assistant

We are looking for a reliable, proactive social media virtual assistant to support the day-to-day content creation and posting for Destination Congo across Instagram and TikTok. This is a part-time, ongoing remote role - approximately 10-15 hours per month - starting September 2026. You will be responsible for editing short-form videos, creating simple graphics, scheduling posts, writing captions, and helping manage the 'My Congo' user-generated content campaign. All source material, written content, and direction will be provided by the CEO. Your job is to take that material, shape it into polished, on-brand social content, and get it posted on schedule. This is a long-term role. We are looking for someone who can grow with the platform and who takes pride in consistent, quality work. About Destination Congo Destination Congo is the only dedicated travel platform for the Democratic Republic of the Congo - built by the Congolese diaspora, for the diaspora and international visitors. The platform covers hotels, restaurants, bars, attractions, events, visa guidance, and city guides across Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Goma, and Bukavu. Core tasks - every month Edit 12 short-form videos per month (Reels and TikToks) using provided footage, photos, and music. Tools: CapCut (preferred) or any editing app you are comfortable with Add captions, text overlays, and the Destination Congo logo to all video posts - brand colours and placement guidelines provided Create simple static graphics for text-based posts using Canva - templates provided Write or finalise captions for each post based on a brief provided by the CEO - captions should be short, direct, and end with a relevant hashtag set Schedule and publish all posts on Instagram and TikTok on the correct days using Meta Business Suite or Buffer (free plan) Repost community-submitted 'My Congo' content - add credit overlay, logo, and caption, then publish Upload all completed files to a shared Google Drive folder, clearly labelled by date and post type Additional tasks - as needed Monitor comments on posted content and flag anything that needs a response from the CEO Track basic performance metrics (likes, views, follower count) at the end of each month using a simple tracker - template provided Resize or reformat content when needed - for example adapting an Instagram Reel to TikTok dimensions Source royalty-free background music for posts when trending audio is not suitable - free sources will be provided You do not need to be an expert video editor. You need to be organised, reliable, and comfortable working with simple editing tools to produce clean, consistent content.
